From the Founder’s Desk
Green Pistachio just turned 1!

From green ideas to great collabs, it’s been one crazy, wonderful year of storytelling and sustainable thinking. We’ve wrapped up the chaos, creativity, and caffeine-fueled nights into one fun video — watch the madness unfold!
And a huge thank you for supporting our mission to make sustainable living easier (and greener)
In The Spotlight
In April, we shared stories about finding joy in small eco-steps. As the quarter rolled on, our curiosity took us to an unexpected arena—the cricket field. The IPL Green Dot Ball Initiative had everyone talking, and we couldn’t help but wonder: was it a real win for sustainability or just a clever marketing move between overs? So, we put on our eco-reporter hats and went looking for answers.
In a nutshell, this initiative had eco-enthusiasts like us asking the big question: where are all those promised trees?

So, we followed the trail, reaching out to the ground-level agencies often credited with the plantations. But most either denied being part of the initiative or stayed silent, leaving us with more questions than answers. However, our story bowled over a flood of questions on socials and beyond.
We’re still on the hunt for answers, and our trail ran cold, but you can help. If you know where these are, send us the lead. Or, better yet, join hands with this initiative—we’ll be the first to cheer and share the real score!
Eco Nugget
Did you know migratory birds are key players in our ecosystems? They help control pests, provide food for other wildlife, protect crops, and even pollinate plants.

And we’ve thanked them by making their journeys harder with disappearing forests, shrinking wetlands, sprawling concrete jungles, glass-covered buildings that confuse their flight paths, pesticide-laden farmlands, and skies drowned in bright city lights. And yet, they keep showing up—winged warriors on a mission to keep nature in balance.
We let our thoughts take wing and imagined a candid heart-to-heart between local and migratory birds—chatting about their struggles, the mess humans are making, and why they’re still holding on to hope. Want to eavesdrop? Click here to read The Great Bird Exchange.
Our Green Quarter
We spent the second quarter of 2025 digging into stories and finding the truth, in true eco-reporter style.

3. USAID Withdrawal: USAID’s abrupt program closures left nonprofits and communities on shaky ground. From where we stand as eco-reporters, the big questions are—what caused this, and who’s stepping up to fill the gap? Read our article for the full story.
4. Gardening Challenge: We put together a 7-day Gardening Challenge with quick, doable eco-tips to make your garden thrive. With monsoon rains ready to play gardener for you, why wait? Dive into our article and join the challenge!
5. Rainwater Harvesting: Our eco-reporter hat led us to a local hero—Ganesh Shanbhag. With nothing but determination, creativity, and smart thinking, he transformed his neighbourhood with a fully functional rainwater harvesting setup. Curious how he did it? Read his story now!
6. The Dam truth: We keep trading forests for concrete dams, thinking it’s progress. But every tree lost weakens nature’s flood defence and pushes us closer to disaster. As eco-reporters, we’ve uncovered why deforestation for dams is not the solution we think it is. Dive into the full article for the truth.
7. Introducing Green Gifting: Grow-trees.com turns your hello into real action. You can send a plantable eTreeCertificate® to someone special, and you’ll be planting trees while spreading joy. It’s the perfect way to grow a friendship story that’s literally rooted in nature. See how it works and be inspired. Read the full story here.
GreenFluence
At Green Pistachio, we believe sustainability isn’t just about planting trees or saying no to plastic bags—it’s about rethinking the little things we use every day. From swapping that plastic toothbrush to choosing products that quietly work for the planet, we love highlighting ideas that turn boring daily habits into cool, eco-friendly wins. We’re all about cheering for the disruptors, the innovators, the eco-warriors, and the ecopreneurs who are proving that green living can be stylish, simple, and fun.

This quarter, Green Pistachio shines the spotlight on Schneider Electric, the global energy and automation leader whose mission—“Life Is On”—is all about empowering people to make the most of their energy and resources to create a sustainable future for all.
Schneider Electric is living proof that sustainability is more than a hashtag; it’s a heartfelt journey. Their SSI 2021–2025 program leans into six core commitments—climate, resources, trust, equality, generational learning, and local empowerment—and turns them into real action. From reducing carbon footprints and championing decent work to lighting up underserved communities with energy access, Schneider shows us that green transformation begins with empathy, engagement, and everyday progress.

Thinking Hat

For you, monsoon might mean paper boats, muddy shoes, or a tune that still hums in your head with every downpour. But pause and think—what if you could hold on to that magic while giving something back? After all, nostalgia isn’t just about remembering the past; it’s about shaping the future too.
This season, you can do just that. Be kind to strays (a reminder echoed even by the Supreme Court), cook up low-waste seasonal meals, hop on public transport that braves the rain, or swap quick fixes for lasting eco-choices. Imagine—your little actions today could be the reason someone else gets to make their own monsoon memories tomorrow. Want to know how? Read our article and start your own mindful monsoon journey.
Sprout

June was for oceans, and our hearts were all in.
As the waves whispered stories of salt and time, we leaned in to listen—and act. To honour National Oceans Month, we dived deep into the reality behind our beaches with this reflective piece, sparking dialogue around the invisible weight of marine pollution, which brought us to our mission for the next month.
July was for fighting Plastic pollution, and we were fully committed
That tide of awareness turned into action with The Great Beach Cleanup, a symbolic initiative that brought together volunteers, eco-warriors, and everyday citizens who care deeply. Our community showed up with bags in hand and purpose in stride, to comb through the sand and collect what didn’t belong.
Our month, however, didn’t end at the shore. We were invited by Lexicon School to judge their Fuel to Fly competition second year in a row, where we led an interactive sustainability session with curious young minds. Turning concern into creativity, and awareness into action. Together, we planted seeds of hope, resilience, and responsibility.
From sandy shores to schoolyards, June and July reminded us that every small act matters. When we move with intention guided by care and community, we create ripples of change that reach far beyond the tide.
EcoDate
This year, the first quarter set the mood for the whole year. The second quarter was no less magical, as we spread awareness about lifestyle changes, eco-friendly summer surviving tips, incredible water conservation hacks, teamed up with NGOs, brought planet-positive news, and asked other (green!) things.

And yes, this was the quarter we launched our campaign – One For The Planet with The Great Beach Cleanup. Alongside 5Rcycle and Wearth Active, we rallied eco-enthusiasts who came in with great energy—registered or not—and left behind a beach 100 kgs cleaner.
Here’s a peek at what’s coming—CSR Talks with Chinnu, another exciting One For The Planet initiative with a hands-on waste collection drive, a podcast about sustainable food habits and why they matter in our lifestyles today, and an urban afforestation push.
Recent Collaborations
We were delighted to team up with eco-thinker Matthew Pye for our Earth Day feature. His fresh take on climate philosophy showed how small, thoughtful ideas can spark big, lasting change. The conversation left us inspired and reminded us that greener futures begin with simple shifts in mindset.
We had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Priti Raichura as part of the Montessori Jackpot initiative. Her expertise and energy brought a fresh perspective to child-centred learning, empowering young minds to think independently and creatively. It was an enriching experience that left a lasting impact.
Adding even more momentum to our mission, we hosted an enlightening session on plastic waste management led by the esteemed Dr. Smita Birkar. With passion and scientific insight, she unpacked the environmental challenges of plastic pollution and inspired practical, everyday solutions. This talk was not only informative but a powerful call to make a difference.
