Newsletter April 2026
From the Founder’s Desk
As we settle into 2026, one thing feels clearer than ever: sustainability was never meant to be a solo journey.
Over the last few months, Green Pistachio has grown in ways that have felt both exciting and deeply affirming—not just through projects, but through people. We’ve had the joy of building new partnerships with organisations, collaborators, and changemakers who believe, like we do, that meaningful impact happens when ideas are shared, values align, and action is taken together.
What started as a small, passionate team is slowly becoming something much bigger: a vibrant community of people who care deeply about the planet and the future we’re creating.
From the incredible team at Planet Pact, to the Climate Talks speakers (who brought knowledge and spark to every conversation), to sustainability advocates, conscious influencers, social entrepreneurs, and even the people who’ve worked with us to make every project a reality and every story unique—this journey is being shaped by a wonderfully diverse collective of eco-warriors. And of course every client that has trusted us with telling their story has been a truly special part of this journey, one that we are immensely grateful for! Each collaboration, each conversation, and each shared effort reminds us that change grows best in community.
And honestly, what a joy that has been.
As Green Pistachio evolves, so do the people behind it. One of our co-founders, Alvito, has now stepped into the role of sleeping partner, cheering us on from behind the scenes, while our other co-founder, Suraj, has ventured into an exciting new creative chapter—launching a beautiful paludarium and terrarium studio. It’s a space where nature, design, and imagination come together in the most magical ways, and if that sounds like your kind of thing, we highly recommend checking it out.
This season feels a little like tending a garden: some plants continue to grow in familiar ways, some branch out in unexpected directions, and new ones take root beside them. But the ecosystem only gets richer.
That’s exactly how Green Pistachio feels right now.
We’re no longer just building campaigns or starting conversations—we’re nurturing a space for curious minds, hopeful hearts, and action-oriented people who want sustainability to feel accessible, inspiring, and of course- in true GP style, even fun.
So if you’ve been reading along, cheering from the sidelines, partnering with us, or simply wondering how to live a little lighter on the planet—this is your invitation to come closer.
Join our growing community. Subscribe to our website. Follow us on social media. Dive deeper with us into the everyday adventures of sustainable living, conscious choices, climate conversations, and practical action—with plenty of joy and a healthy dose of quirky fun along the way.
Because building a greener future shouldn’t feel overwhelming.
It should feel like belonging.
And we’d love to build it with you.

In The Spotlight
At Green Pistachio, we’ve always believed climate action starts with those living closest to nature. That belief came alive when we visited the Aarey Forest with Nitisha Agrawal and spent time with Adivasi women whose connection to the land runs deep. Sitting together on a simple mat, we listened to stories of protecting forests, preserving biodiversity, and nurturing their communities through everyday actions.

These stories weren’t just about saving the environment—they were also about living with it, caring for it, and sustaining it as home. You don’t walk away from spaces like this unchanged. You start to realise climate action isn’t distant—it’s personal, and already part of your world.
Watch how meeting these women made our women’s day very special and one for the archives!

Did you know that SDG 2 goes beyond calorie intake, placing equal importance on micronutrients and balanced diets? Today, that idea feels more relevant than ever.
As more of us are getting health-conscious and eating better, the focus also needs to shift toward sustainable food habits —what we eat, where it comes from, and how it impacts the planet. Food isn’t just fuel anymore; it’s climate action on a plate. Choosing local, seasonal, and low-impact ingredients supports both ecosystems and nutrition.
That’s where millets stand out—climate-resilient, resource-efficient, and nutrient-rich. And with ready-to-use options from Millet Matters, your first step to making this shift becomes simple and easy to sustain every day.

Green Pistachio stands on the belief that sustainability shouldn’t feel like a task—it should feel like second nature. And we do this through stories—of people driving change, enterprises helping communities move forward with sustainable products and CSR initiatives, and government initiatives that inspire more eco-conscious habits.
In this quarter’s edition, Green Pistachio highlights Axis Bank’s ground-up approach to sustainability. Through #Mission2Million, the bank has supported 2.05 million families across 23,000+ Indian villages with eco-resilient livelihoods, while training over 180,000 youth. Now, #Mission4Million by Axis Bank Foundation aims to support 4 million rural households by 2031, focusing on sustainable livelihoods, climate resilience, and community leadership.

Every monsoon, Mumbai floods—and the rain takes the blame.
But the issue runs deeper. Mangroves, which naturally absorb excess water and protect the city, are steadily being cleared for development. As these natural buffers disappear, the impact of the same rainfall becomes much worse.
Development continues, but at what cost? And who really pays the price when nature is pushed aside?
So maybe the question isn’t why Mumbai floods—it’s why we’re making it more vulnerable.

Walk down any street, and you’ll see them—stray animals, just trying to get through the day. In India, they live with hunger, injuries, and constant risk. They survive because they have to, not because the system supports them. A few people choose to care, while most of us move on, telling ourselves it’s not our responsibility. Maybe it’s time to pause, to really sit with what’s happening around us.
Read more here, and if you want to help, animal shelters are often the safest place to take injured or vulnerable strays. To find one near you, visit our website, enter your city, and explore verified shelters around you.

This quarter, we finally got together in Pune. Faces to names, ideas to conversations, and a lot of laughter in between. From capturing clips of the meetup to simply spending time together, it felt less like a “team meeting” and more like a reminder of the people behind everything we do. We’re always looking for more people to be part of this journey—if this resonates with you, drop us a line.
And while we’re on real-world action—Sorting Out Mumbai continued to grow, with more residents coming together to rethink waste, one small habit at a time. What began as an initiative is now slowly becoming a movement, and we’re looking to take it beyond Mumbai into new communities ready for change. If your neighbourhood could use something like this, drop a comment with your details—we’ll take it from there. And if you know someone who can help scale this to a larger audience with real impact, send them our way.

Continuing our partnership with Planet Pact, co-founder Harshvardhan Sharma, who attended SOM 2.0, will add his voice to our website! We’re also bringing you “ Climate Shorts”, to unpack ongoing climate issues in a simple, relatable, fun way that sticks- follow our socials so you don’t miss it!
Looking ahead, we’re going to bring you waste management and clean energy solutions with The Green Thumb, exploring cleaner, affordable fuels like biomass briquettes while dealing with India’s biggest waste problem – Urban kitchen waste. We’re also diving into wellness, centred on mindful living and menopausal yoga. And that’s not all, we’re also building climate action programs for schools and corporates—turning awareness into real, everyday impact.
Call it a recap, or call it a hint of what’s coming next—we’re excited either way.
